Compassion
"Gaining a client's trust is very important to me. There is nothing worse than sitting in an attorney's office and feeling anxious. I appreciate every client for their uniqueness and I enjoy the visible sense of relief when they know that everything is in order."
David Melchert took a different path after law school by working for an insurance company as a claims adjustor. He worked his way up in the firm by assisting with an expansion to Boston where he lived for a few years, then partnered with the former founder and CEO of the company to reorganize the entire operation.
The financial and project management skills he acquired during those years apply well to his practice in estate planning and elder law, assisting clients with the multi-faceted decisions of attending to their last wishes and long term care.
"Our biggest marketing tool is doing good work for a family and having their grandchildren come here years later," he says.
David represents clients for estate and medical assistance planning. He helps them establish health care directives and power of attorney, and helps family members navigate the probate process. In addition, David has experience in real estate transactions with regard to estate planning and preservation of assets for the next generation.
A particular growth area in David’s practice is trust administration. "I develop a great rapport with clients and enjoy working one-on-one with them," he says.
